Prestigious Textiles was founded by the current Managing Director, Trevor Helliwell, who began operating as a specialist textile wholesaler and distributor from a small office in Bingley in 1988. Dedicated initially to supplying the retail sector in the UK and Ireland, the company expanded quickly. Today, just two decades on, the Prestigious Textiles group runs an advanced multi site operation in West Yorkshire, right at the heart of the British textile heritage area, from where goods are despatched daily to destinations worldwide.

Company administrative and sales headquarters are adjacent to some 45,000ft2 of warehouse facilities in a series of purpose-built units on the Bradford site. Here are held stocks of bulk piece-goods and customised cut-lengths, supported by a computerised sample and cutting distribution department to ensure that enquiries for cuttings, pattern book and point-of-sale support

are dealt with speedily and effectively.

In addition, the group operates two off-site stockholding warehouses and a sample manufacturing unit totalling some 30,000ft2. These run alongside Styleline Blinds UK, a subsidiary of the Prestigious Textiles group, which serves the niche market for customised window blinds.

With partner businesses in Ireland, France, Germany, South Africa and the Benelux nations, and trading alliances operating in a further 93 countries, Prestigious Textiles can claim to have a truly global presence today. Yet it remains as committed to its UK roots as it is to its international profile, with a comprehensive network of retail stockists across the UK and Ireland ranging from major high-street department stores to independent home interiors specialists.
