Serengeti Safari

7th January 2020

Take a walk on the wild side this New Year with a safari-inspired living space.

The fashion trend for animal print has made its way from the catwalk onto highstreets and now into interiors, with designs featuring tiger, zebra and leopard skins moving from wardrobes to living spaces.

Inspired by the recent trend, Dolce & Gabbana have embraced everything safari for 2020. Their Spring/Summer collection features eccentric animal prints and expedition inspired shirts, ready for exploring the Serengeti.

This season, living spaces have taken inspiration from fashion’s love for Safari Chic, incorporating an interior style influenced by wildlife from the African plains.

Whilst interiors featuring animal print in accent cushions and accessories have been popular in recent years, this season is all about clashing prints to make a maximalist statement.

Coming away from the daring maximalism we saw in AW19, featuring bold colour and luxurious velvets, these Safari inspired spaces feature a neutral colour palette of earthy tones paired with statement animal print designs, like those from our Tribe collection.

The designs mix and match perfectly to create a tribal look in a mix of rust oranges, sandy shades and earthy naturals.

As well as bringing the feeling of the Sahara into a room using stand out cushions, blinds and drapery, the designs make a statement in accent furniture pieces, like this chair upholstered in our Damara Dusk design.

This monochrome zebra print has also been popular on the catwalk, helping to add interest to a black and white look. Our Damara Dusk design offers the same effect to a living space, helping to incorporate the trend into a more minimalistic home.

As well as working well alone, all designs from Tribe pair perfectly with our Fusion fabric collection and Dimension wallcoverings.

The range of small-scale geometrics in Fusion adds another dimension of colour with the Honey and Pumice shades, which also work well alongside the geometric and semi plain wallpapers from Dimension.

These spaces inspired by the Serengeti are completed with natural accessories, from rattan lighting to wooden coffee tables and woven baskets.
