Get the Look!

5th June 2014

The nautical look is back! We are excited to see the return of this ever popular trend and we are exploring how to create the look with this month’s nautical mood board.

Capture a coastal theme within your interiors using cool blues hues, sea greens and sandy naturals, offset with washed out whites. Include subtle hints of vibrant red to epitomise the nautical trend and lift the whole colour palette.

Create your beach house nautical look with crisp stripes and use a variety of stripe styles to create an eclectic look. To add texture combine tactile materials, such as heavyweight woven fabrics and embroideries. Also you can use your fabrics to create tableware accessories such as napkins or a striking stripped table runner, to coordinate with your soft furnishings.

Collecting trinkets and treasures along the way while decorating your room will help inspire you and add a touch of personality. Reflect the nautical theme throughout your whole room by adding coastal themed accessories to work alongside your fabrics and soft furnishings. Use decorative pebbles, coral and seashells to decorate mantelpieces, rope work details, lanterns, chunky wooden frames and nautical ceramics will reflect the nautical theme throughout the whole room.

Our designer says…

Whether you are decorating a coastal beach house or country retreat, you can make your home feel like a seaside escape and capture the holiday feel with sea blues, pops of red, driftwood and crisp stripes. We offer a wide range of nautical inspired collections from our classic Brighton and Maritime woven stripes, to the smart embroideries of our Marina collection. For something a little more conversational and characterful see our Be Happy and Westward Ho collection with nautical themes depicted in prints, embroideries and appliqué.
