Favour More Versatile, Timeless Patterns
Choose fabrics that children can grow up with, rather than out of.

Understated, versatile patterns such as checks, stripes, and subtle geometrics are sophisticated. These still feel light and playful, though. They not only have longevity, but also pair well with a range of styles. Use for larger furnishings in your child’s room, such as curtains, blinds, or even a headboard. Pair with conversational fabrics in small soft furnishings, such as cushions and throws. Choose patterns such as striking geometrics and florals. This way, you can swap them out as they grow older.
Use a Refined Palette
Add colourways that not only encourage relaxation, but that they will love for years to come.
Choose softer, more delicate shades of your child’s preferred colours. Earthy yellows, sage greens, and dusky pinks work better than brighter shades. Use gentle neutrals as a base. Incorporate brighter pops of colour sparingly. Use items such as your scatter cushions or even curtain fabric to do this. These can be updated more easily as they grow, compared to larger furnishings.
