Autumn/Winter Colour Palettes – Our Favourites

Take a look at some of our favourite colour combinations for the coming seasons.

7th October 2024

Seamlessly transition into the cooler months with this season’s most on-trend palettes. Take inspiration from the latest in the home décor space, as well as beautiful landscapes outside.

From sunset hues that encapsulate autumnal skies to classic pairings of green and brown, we’ve rounded up our favourite colour schemes that capture the changing seasons. Standout combinations of teal and terracotta have also caught our eye recently, with this vibrant blue shade livening up cosier hues of orange. See below our favourite colour trends for this season, and how to present them in your own home.

Sunset Hues are Synonymous with the Autumn and Winter Seasons

Look to changing skies outdoors to inspire colour schemes in your home.

Use a variety of dusky pinks and light clay tones, through to warming ambers and auburn colourways. Frame autumnal scenes outdoors with a rust-tinted fabric at your windows, building up your palette through accompanying soft furnishings such as scatter cushions. Alternatively, keep larger pieces of furniture more pared back with neutral pink tones, and add vibrancy through cushions and throws that can be swapped out seasonally.

Teal & Terracotta Combinations Have Caught our Eye

This showstopping pairing is both contemporary and versatile, and is something we’ve seen a lot of recently in the interiors space.

Teal and terracotta are contrasting colourways, meaning they look especially striking when used together. Experiment with a mix of varying teal and terracotta shades for depth. Add in deeper navy or royal blues for a sophisticated twist, whilst lighter, more characterful teals create confidence and character. Pair with tones of ochre and rust to create a cosy, cocooning space. Why not use teal on your walls and reserve terracotta tones for your soft furnishings?

Brown & Green Combinations Embody the Beauty of Nature

Bring the outdoors in no matter the weather, by combining verdant greens with earthy browns.

Lisbon Collection, Campbell Collection

Creating feelings of comfort in the home, using the two not only looks visually pleasing, but also helps place us at ease. Olive greens work particularly well with earthy browns, so mix the two for maximum effect. Amplify the sense of calm created by green and brown by pairing with diverse textures. Green can be used through tactile boucle fabrics, combining with slub-effect plains in brown and amber colourways. Alternatively, mix green with brown through wooden accents and accessories instead.
